Unfortunately, I don't know German. I want to know if there is anyone who has scoliosis near 55* lumbar at the age near 20 and had succeed with this Korsett? I haven't found much information about this In the internet in English and in Russian there is only ONE patient who has this Korsett, but the age of the girl is 17. Please, if you know any stories like this then answer. In my country create only Cheneau, they told me that i'm too old for this treatment.
Please help, I love my country but our medicine in this field is not very good, thank you

I can tell you that you are really not too old for the treatment with a brace. We have many users on this platform who are older than you and started the therapy with a brace when they were older 20. So did I! I have a kyphosis and started the brace therapy last year at the age of 24.

At the moment one user comes to my mind who does not need to wear her brace anymore, it´s Dolphingirl, but I am sure there are far more users here who ended the therapy already. A brace is not forever !

I do! I do fitness training with my brace, just as leg press, training with barbells and others. It works well. Without my brace it wouldn´t be possible.
For sure there are limitations in daily life but it is easy to arrange yourself with them. For example you won´t be able to sit comfortably at every chair, sitting at a couch might be a little bit challenging . Bending down is not possible anymore, but you can go down bending your knees. Of course you will feel different with a brace than without it. In the first time one will feel a little stiff but this changes soon.

3Who is Hoffmann? He also makes Korsetts or he only examines?

Dr. Hoffmann is the doctor who will examine you. He will x-ray your back, examine it, measure the angles of your back bending and make a concrete diagnosis.
Mister Rahmouni is the orthopedic technician who will manufacture the brace if Dr Hoffmann exhibits a cheneau brace.

welcome here in our forum.

I don´t have scoliosis mainly in the lumbar spine, but in the thoracic spine. But there is not really a difference. In the contrary, I often heard, that the correction of lumbar curvatures are easier.

I startet to wear a brace with a 53° curvature when I was 23 years old. With 24 I got my first Rahmouni-Brace and after two weeks I was down to 16° in the brace. Back then, I did wear my brace 20 hours per day.
Now, 5 years later I´m down to 34° without the brace and mainly I´m wearing it while sleeping.
My aim was to avoid surgery and I think that I reached this goal. The brace isn´t bothering me much and if I change my mind, then nothing will be to late.
My back looks almost normal, only people who know about the scoliosis will see, that there is something different. Before treatment, my rip hump was clearly visible.

I only can recommend you to attempt this kind of therapy and make your own experience. With 55° in the lumbar spine some doctors will recommend surgery, therefore you have nothing to lose.

yes, at the beginning of the brace treatment some pain is normal. But it will get better after you become accustomed to the brace.

ok) Do you do any exercises ?Don't muscles become weak in the brace? You lived normal life with this brace? I mean were you laying in the bad much time in the brace during the day? My friend was laying down first 2 months because of the pain
