Hi everyone

Hi everyone,

I’m Marco, and I’ve been living with scoliosis since childhood. I wore a rigid brace from age 11 to 18, and honestly, back then it felt like a punishment — hot in summer, hard to hide at school, and uncomfortable to sleep in. Still, it stopped my curve from getting much worse.

Now, almost 20 years later, I find myself wearing a brace again. This time it’s not about correcting the curve, but about managing pain and supporting my spine. The new brace is lighter, custom-made, and much easier to tolerate. I don’t wear it 18 hours a day anymore — usually 4–6 hours when I know I’ll be standing, working long shifts, or driving. And I can really feel the difference: less fatigue, less strain, and I get through the day with far less pain.

It’s funny how my perspective has changed. As a kid, the brace felt like a prison; as an adult, I see it as an ally. It doesn’t solve everything, but it gives me the support I need to keep moving, keep working, and keep living my life.

Stay strong — anyone else here wearing a brace as an adult?
