Hi all,
I will probably relocate to Frankfurt from Italy in February, while my family will follow me in following months
Our 3 years child suffer of scoliosis, he wears a Cheneau corset (23/24h/day) since 18 months and we obtained a reduction from 51 to 40° degrees.

We would like to retrieve some informations about the German Health insurance, I would use KK (private insurance is not an option due to his pre conditions).
Does the NHS cover corset/expenses/therapy?

I tried to perform a search, but due to language reasons maybe I'm not able to retrieve the needed information

Thanks for your help!

Statutory health insurence covers scoliosis treatment like corset therapy, physiotherapy or surgery.

There is no primary condition like in private health insurence to be accepted.

So, don't be afraid, everything will be all right with the statutory health insurence.

You should definitely think about where to treat your child. She/he has a severe scoliosis and you should opt for a real specialist.
You will find addresses here:

thanks !! that's a great news :)

are you aware of daycare support for parents?
My child need speech and movement therapy too, so she won't be able to work full time to follow him (while I'll work full time).

There are financial aid from the health insurance as well as from the state.

I can not give you precise information as I am not well-informed in this subject.
